Lawrence, Kansas

A clinic kids ask to come back to

Lawrence is where New Heights began, and our mission here has never changed: to create a welcoming, fun, and safe space for every member of your family. We want parents to feel supported and kids to feel right at home, because the best progress happens when the whole family feels comfortable. Our sensory gym, full teaching kitchen, and cozy language-learning nooks give your child room to explore and grow, with you as part of every step.

Three learning nooks

Therapy that feels like a place to explore

Our Lawrence clinic has three beautiful thematic nooks. Speech, occupational, physical, feeding and myofunctional therapy all happen through play here, because a child who is busy playing is a child who is learning.

Colorful pretend play market area with a toy kitchen, displays of play food and decorative fruit murals on the wall

The Market

A pretend market stand with play fruits and vegetables. Speech therapists use it for requesting, naming and back-and-forth conversation; occupational therapists use it for grasp, sorting and carrying; feeding therapists use it to build comfort with new foods before they ever reach a plate.

Children's play kitchen with white cabinetry, a wooden table and chairs, colorful toys and a large yellow sun mural

The Kitchen

A full play kitchen and table with real cooking and baking, where kids practise sequencing and describing, build fine motor skills through pouring, stirring and spreading, and work on posture and mealtime routines at a table that feels like home.

Nature

Our Nature Nook brings the fun of the great outdoors into the clinic! Kids can set up camp, explore a pretend forest, and dream up their next adventure. It’s a cozy spot where imaginations wander, play sparks connection, and little explorers build big skills.

Our Lawrence sensory gym

A gym built for how children actually move

Our custom-built sensory gym is central to occupational and physical therapy here. Swings, climbing walls, balance equipment and obstacle courses let kids build strength, coordination and sensory regulation while they think they're just playing.

Therapy doesn't stop at the door

Outdoor space and a nature trail, used by every therapy

Lawrence has plenty of outdoor room for therapy and play, including a nature trail our therapists use across all five services. A walk outside can be a speech session, an OT session or a movement session, all at once.

Being outside changes the session, more movement, more sensory input, and a lot more reasons to talk about what's around you.
